William J. Byrnes is the Associate Provost and Dean of Graduate Studies at Southern Utah University where he works with the provost and deans in areas such as academic planning and program development, assessment, accountability, regional and professional accreditation, program reviews, and institutional research. He works closely with the directors of the graduate programs to ensure the continued growth and development of the SUU Graduate School. He teaches in the SUU Arts Administration Program and assists with programs sponsored by the Utah Center for Arts Administration. He also lectures and presents internationally on a wide range of subjects in the field of arts and culture management. Mr. Byrnes has worked for more than 35 years in all aspects of producing theatre, dance, and opera. He is a Past-President and a Fellow of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT) and has served on several nonprofit boards including the Utah Shakespeare Festival Board of Governors and the Cedar City Arts Council. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the ESTA Foundation in New York City.
